Social Program:

The following events are included in the registration fee for delegates and accompanying persons. If you require additional tickets please complete Question E of your Registration Form.

Sit back and relax at our welcome BBQ after the Golf day, or your day of travel to Green Island. Enjoy an outdoor function in the grounds of the Novotel Sprigs Lawn, and make sure you bring a warm jacket! Tonight is an informal evening, followed by karaoke in a private bar. Get those vocal cords tuned up and be ready to
join in!

Relax after the day’s sessions with some drinks in the Cocktail bar, sponsored by CP Ships. This evening is free for you to explore Palm Cove, before returning to the resort for late night drinks and

Pre Dinner drinks, sponsored by Crossocean will be the perfect start to the evening. Enjoy the sunset whilst sipping on champagne, overlooking the resort golf course.

Conference Dinner, Driving Range

Dress: Smart Casual – Bring a warm jacket Get your dancing shoes on and be ready to have a night of fun and dramatic!. Be sure to bring a warm jacket, this is an outdoor event, sponsored by EDI. Tonight will be a relaxed end to the conference, and a perfect opportunity to enjoy yourself with colleagues and friends! A few surprises are in store!

Crossocean Karaoke Bar
A bar, for the exclusive use of AFIF delegates, sponsored by Crossocean will be open on Wednesday and Friday nights. It will open as the evening social function concludes. Warm up your vocal cords, ready for the annual rendition of Mustang Sally. Dancing Queen House of The Rising Sun and a host of other songs!

Children:

The resort is designed with children in mind and a fully licensed childcare facility operates for children from 6 weeks to 5 years, Club Dolfi for 5 - 12 years and Club Extreme for the teenagers. Please let the conference secretariat know if you are bringing children with you, so we can ensure they are catered for.

Included Transfers to/from Airport

The Novotel Palm Cove Resort operates scheduled transfers from and to the Cairns Domestic and International Airports. This service is INCLUDED for registered persons and accompanying persons. Additional travellers rate is $15 one way.

Children aged between 5 - 15 years travel at $7.00 one way and children under 5 are FREE of charge. The driver, holding a sign "Australian Federation of International Forwarders" will meet you in the luggage collection area shortly after your arrival.

Please advise the Conference Secretariat of your flight details (see section G on your registration form) to ensure you are catered for. If you do not provide details, transfers will not be available.

Return transfers to the airport are included in your registration. When you provide your flight details, these will be passed onto the hotel. They have scheduled departures from the hotel to the airport and the hotel will allocate you a time.

Baby seats:
Unfortunately, the shuttle bus does not have any baby seats. All of their coaches have seatbelts, so the children can either sit on their parent’s laps, or can sit in the seats with seatbelts.

Taxis:
A taxi from the airport to the hotel is approx $35 – $40 one way

The only way for a company team to be entered into the competition is to take out a corporate sponsorship. All other teams will be at the discretion of the organiser.

    Optional Tour

    Green Island is a beautiful coral cay that enjoys world acclaim as a tropical paradise on Australia’s Great Barrier Reef. The Island is a protected Marine National Park that is readily identified from the air by its emerald rainforest surrounded by white sandy beaches and beautiful coral reefs. Discover the fascinating underwater world among the coral reefs surrounding Green Island where you will see an endless variety of colourful fish, turtles, giant clams, starfish, shells, anemones, eels, sponges, sea urchins and many more incredible marine creatures.

  • Hotel transfer from the Novotel to Palm Cove Jetty @ 10.20am
  • Cruise to Green Island aboard "Reef Rocket"

    What to Bring

    Partners Lunch - Thursday 19th May 2005

    Meet in the reception area of the Hotel, for a guided short walk to Tamara’s at the Beach Restaurant, located at the Beautiful Outrigger Beach Club and Spa. Here you will enjoy a 2-course meal, some wine and coffee, whilst relaxing in the beach side atmosphere of Palm Cove. If you would like to book this please fill out section E of your registration form.

    Cost: $42 per person
