Change to AQIS Import Permit Procedures

AQIS is making some changes to its permit assessment, approval and issuing procedures, effective 31 July 2006. These changes aim to simplify the process when lodging import permit applications.

The Notice includes details about the following main changes:

1. The consolidation of Import Permits to Canberra Office.

2. Amendment to the National Co-ordination Centres roles.

3. Transfer of agricultural products from Entry Management & Permits (EMP) to the Plant Programs Section.
