1. FIATA's Attendance at the UN: 20th session of the Commission on Sustainable Development in New York September 20, 2013

FIATA will be attending this year's 20th Session of the Commission on Sustainable Development to propose that more emphasis and focus be put on logistics connectivity within the main goals for sustainable development of the United Nations

Previous research and statistics from notable institutions have revealed the importance of logistics as a driver for economic growth. FIATA will stress the importance of logistic connectivity and its impact on international trade especially in domestic economies which are restricted within the confines of their borders. We must also address UN Policy concerning Land Locked Countries and their difficulties in accessing international markets.

There is great need for collective and globally accepted regulations in order to develop appropriate measures which can increase wealth through the facilitation of trade. FIATA believes that UN delegates developing consistent global policy on sustainable logistics connectivity can significantly transform the outlook of our future trade.

2. FIATA Young Logistics Professionals on 14 October 2013

The forum on the Young Logistics Professionals Day is being independently organized by the Singapore Logistics Association to be held in conjunction with the FIATA World Congress 2013 in Singapore.

The forum aims to bring together tertiary students, aspiring local and international young professionals as well as experienced and veterans of the logistics industry to share their experience. It will be a great platform of learning from global experts and local entrepreneurs.
Winners from the Singapore Supply Chain Challenge and FIATA's Young International Freight Forwarders of the Year Award will be sharing their learning journeys.
The seats are limited to the first 100 delegates of the FIATA World Congress.

4. IATA Cargo & Mail Supply Chain Security Forum, 19 - 20 November 2013 in Limerick/Ireland

The air cargo and mail industry continues to remain vigilant against the risk of attacks by terrorists and other criminals. However, there is no room for complacency. To support enhanced cooperation with the Regulators/International Organizations and provide a forum for Industry to actively engage on air cargo and mail security topics, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) is organizing its third Cargo and Mail Supply Chain Security forum on 19th and 20th November 2013 in Limerick, Ireland.
This forum will give you the opportunity to network, engage with the decision makers, and understand best practices and lessons learned.
