Offering Cargo Insurance to Customers
Dear All,
 
As a reminder, AFIF members are able to facilitate the arrangement of cargo insurance on behalf of their customers, through an on-line facility provided in Association with Australian Risk Applications (ARA - specialist Marine & Freight Forwarders Liability Insurance Brokers). In addition, the team at ARA are a valuable resource for AFIF members when seeking advice and guidance on all matters pertaining to Marine (Cargo Insurance) & Liability covers.
 
ARA work with most of the large Marine Insurers in Australia, and are offering a specialist broker service that we believe should be considered by all members. In addition, ARA has found that in a vast majority of the cases where they have been approached, they have been successful in securing the member a better "solution to their risk requirements".
 
ARA has the ability to assist members with setting up an on-Line Cargo Insurance Facility, which in a large majority of the cases will be able to meet your customers Marine Insurance requirements. Any Cargo Insurance risks not automatically catered for by the Facility can be referred into ARA to be dealt with specifically. This allows the member to respond to your customer's needs.
 
Some of the main features include:
  1. FSRA (Financial Services Reform Act) licensing arrangements provided.
  2. Insurance premiums very competitively priced.
  3. Wide scope of cover (can include Perishables/Household goods, electronic goods etc.).
  4. Nominal, or no, excess applied in the event of claims.
  5. ARA to assist members with non-standard technical queries/referrals.
  6. Claims to be submitted to the Insurers direct to expedite settlement to customers. Guidelines produced to assist member/customers for all claims.
  7. Reduced administration for the members i.e.: one email declaration to ARA monthly in arrears noting Insured shipments.
  8. Insurance Facility is very user-friendly, having the ability to produce Certificates, quotes, Policy wordings/PDS.
  9. Well known Insurers Underwriting the Facility.
