Dear All,
The Australian Customs and Border Protection Service ( ACBPS / Customs ) have advised the following:
As a result of the Better Regulation Ministerial Partnership in 2010 between the Minister for Finance and Deregulation, the Minister for Innovation, Industry, Science, Research and Tertiary Education and the Minister for Home Affairs, the import concessions listed in Schedule 4 of the Customs Tariff Act 1995 have been revised and came into effect 1 March 2013. It was also agreed that guidelines for Schedule 4 would be made available for importers and these have recently been finalised and are available on the Customs website: http://www.customs.gov.au/tariff/schedule-4.asp
The guidelines are a dynamic document that can be amended as required. Should you or your members have any comments or queries about the guidelines please don't hesitate to contact Elise Dore, A/g Director Trade Policy and Advice Section, on 02 6275 6542 or by email: elise.dore@customs.gov.au.
Please advise all concerned.
Thank you,
Brian Lovell
