ADDENDUM II to the 54th Edition of the IATA DGR

IATA has issued the latest addendum to the 54th edition of the IATA Dangerous Goods Manual.
In accordance with the addendum issued by ICAO to the 2013 - 2014 edition of the Technical Instructions to remove provision for lithium ion aircraft batteries up to a weight of 35 kg to be transported on passenger aircraft, attached is an equivalent addendum to the 54th edition of the DGR.

In addition to the changes related to special provision A51, there are also a number of revisions to operator variations that have been advised and that are now effective.

Note: This addendum does not affect the acceptance and transport of other aircraft batteries permitted under A51 to be transported on passenger aircraft and there is no impact on lithium batteries such as those for consumer electronic equipment in accordance with Packing Instructions 965 to 970.
