Industry Update on Customs Connect Facility
25 October 2012

As previously communicated, Customs and Border Protection have experienced difficulties with the performance of the CCF since implementation on 23 September 2012. In previous updates we referred mainly to the messaging delays and the implication of those delays. Another issue where outbound messages, for clients who receive their messages in batch form, are not being successfully sent has now been identified.

This issue only surfaces in instances where a particular set of circumstances exist. The cause of this issue is complex and unpredictable but investigation is advanced and is being treated as a priority by Customs and Border Protection and our IT provider with world-wide experts being engaged. Any users affected by this issue have the option to retransmit by accessing the retransmit facility in outbound messages within the ICS. Users with this issue can also contact the Customs Information and Support Centre for assistance in retransmitting the messages.

We would like to thank you for your ongoing patience. We will continue to work closely with industry through this disruption until all issues are resolved. We will continue to provide you with up to date information on our website www.cargosupport.gov.au.

For urgent enquiries please contact the Customs Information and Support Centre on phone number 1300 558 099.
