Dear Tradegate members,
Further to our Bulletin of February 17 (click here to view), Tradegate still requires a significant number of Proxies in order to finalise the liquidation process which will assist funding for important and beneficial projects for industry. Please refer to a message from the Chairman of Tradegate that follows below.
We ask that if you are a Tradegate member and have not yet returned your Proxy, would you kindly do so to help finalise this important process.
Thanks and regards
Brian Lovell
Chief Executive Officer
Please refer to the letter from Tradegate following this message:
Dear Tradegate member,
You will have now received Notice of Tradegate Australia Limited’s Annual General Meeting to be held on 9th March 2012. The notice includes several "Special and Ordinary Resolutions" that relate to the voluntary liquidation of Tradegate Australia Limited.
Tradegate has no longer been the single window to Customs since the introduction of the Australian Customs Service Cargo Management Re-engineering Project in October 2005. The new approach to messaging by Customs has seen a dynamic shift in the viability of Tradegate.
Your Board of Directors have taken numerous steps to preserve the funds that Tradegate has accumulated since its creation, which culminated in the sale of network assets and the "Special and Ordinary Resolutions" presented to you for the year ending 2011 Annual General Meeting.
The Board of Directors have preserved the Tradegate funds for use in future projects that will benefit all of industry, The Board of Directors urge you to complete a proxy form nominating the Director in your voting category or the Chairman as your proxy in order to proceed with the voluntary liquidation of Tradegate. The link to the proxy form is http://www.tradegate.org.au/media/2012_Proxy_form.doc
The decision to pursue voluntary liquidation has been endorsed by the key industry associations in the International Trade and Logistics service providers sector.
Yours sincerely,
Geoff Clark
Chairman, Tradegate
