Dangerous Goods Class 1 Explosives in the Port of Melbourne Update

We have been advised that The Port of Melbourne Corp (PoMC) have refined their plan for the safe transfer / handling of explosives in the Port of Melbourne, designed to ensure unhindered access to the port of vessels transferring / handling explosives into the Port of Melbourne.
 
This plan responds to the requirements of the new Dangerous Goods (Explosives) Regulations (Vic) 2011 (the regulations) introduced by WorkSafe. As defined in the Regulations, responsibilities for vessels entering the Port of Melbourne (POM) are placed on the Master of a Vessel and relevant Port Managers. The plan also includes responsibilities for shipping agents, shipping lines and others.
 
The plan which is inclusive of enhancements from the consultative workshop and input from relevant Port Managers and others including Shipping Australia Limited is now available on the PoMC website for your reference via the following path:
