Dear All,
Australian Customs have issued the following update in regard to the Customs Connect Facility :
As previously communicated, Customs and Border Protection have experienced intermittent difficulties with the performance of the CCF since implementation on 23 September 2012. The CCF problems have revolved around messaging delays and other outbound messaging issues. Significant progress has been made identifying the cause of these complex and unpredictable issues and then providing workable remedies. These remedies have been developed due to a collaboration between Customs and Border Protection and our IT provider who have engaged world-wide experts. These remedies are expected to be progressively implemented, after extensive testing, over the next month.
Notwithstanding the work being put into finding workable solutions, there were CCF problems on 31 October 2012 resulting in an outage that necessitated invoking of the ICS BCP. The BCP was only invoked for a short period and the entirety of the incident including the clearing of the delayed messages was 3 hours. An outage report will be published on the Cargo Support web site once all details are available.
Once again we would like to thank you for your ongoing patience. We will continue to work closely with industry through this disruption until all issues are resolved. We will continue to provide you with up to date information on our website www.cargosupport.gov.au.
For urgent enquiries please contact the Customs Information and Support Centre on phone number 1300 558 099.
Thank you and regards,
Juana Mulherin
