OTS Air Cargo Security Bulletin

Further to the AFIF Notice of Friday, June 1st  regarding changes to the air cargo security program, the Office of Transport Security (OTS) have issued a Newsletter to all RACA organisations outlining recent changes to legislation and their effect on air cargo security requirements in the short-medium term.

 

The Newsletter includes important updates on: 

 

  • Changes to the air cargo transport security regulations;
  • The commencement of the Accredited Air Cargo Agent (AACA) Scheme;
  • Expiring Transport Security Programs (TSPs); and
  • Regulated Shipper Scheme workshops.


The Air Cargo Security News ebulletin (Issue1: 2012) has been added to the OTS website and is also attached here.

We will be meeting with OTS later in June to discuss many of the recent changes, their impact and the likely compliance requirements and their effective date.  We have many issues requiring greater clarity moving forward and will advise more in due course.
