8 March 2011 Message validation of Consignee Postal Codes - EU The inclusion of Consignee Postal Codes is fast becoming an industry requirement in FWB & FHL messages for a growing number of destination countries.
Postal Code validation is currently applied to all FWB & FHL messages where the destination country code is CA (Canada), ID (Indonesia), PK (Pakistan), US (United States) and ZA (South Africa). Effective March 14th 2011, the additional message validation of Consignee Post Codes will be extended to also include shipments destined to Europe and will apply to the following destination country codes: | AT – Austria | FR – France | PT – Portugal | | | BE – Belgium | GR – Greece | RO – Romania | | | BG – Bulgaria | HU – Hungary | SE – Sweden | | | CY – Cyprus | IT – Italy | SI – Slovenia | | | CZ – Czech Republic | LT – Lithuania | SK – Slovakia | | | DE – Germany | LU - Luxembourg | UK – United Kingdom | | | DK – Denmark | LV – Latvia | CH - Switzerland | | | EE – Estonia | MT – Malta | NO - Norway | | | ES – Spain | NL – The Netherlands | | | | FI – Finland | PL – Poland | | |
Our recommendation to forwarders is to include the postal code for all shippers and consignees regardless of origin and destination.
Please remember to always check your response messages to ensure there has been an FMA (positive response) received from CCN for your FWB & FHL messages, and no FNA (negative response). All FNA’s should be investigated immediately on receipt.
