Port of Brisbane welcomes MV Tugela
 

The Port of Brisbane Pty Ltd (PBPL) welcomed the MV Tugela to Brisbane on 12 October during its maiden voyage to Australia. The Large Car and Truck Carrier (LCTC) is designed for worldwide transportation of rolling cargoes, including cars, high and heavy rolling cargo, roll trailers, and breakbulk cargo. The vessel is arranged with 13 decks for cargo and a 12-metre stern ramp, which has a 320 tonne capacity.

Mutual Aid Group helps improve port emergency procedures
 

The Port of Brisbane's Mutual Aid Group (MAG) is working to improve port emergency procedures through live exercises and scenario workshops. The group, consisting of PBPL representatives, port tenants, and lead agencies including the Queensland Police Service, Queensland Fire and Rescue Service, Queensland Ambulance Service and Maritime Safety Queensland, meets four times per year to share knowledge, build relationships and practice emergency procedures.

Construction of the Port of Brisbane Motorway upgrade, Port Connect, is well underway, with activity now along the length of the corridor.

  Port of Brisbane welcomes its largest ever cruise ship

The Port of Brisbane Pty Ltd (PBPL) welcomed the Radiance of the Seas, the largest ever cruise ship to visit Brisbane, on 17 October.
Measuring 293 metres in length and weighing 90,090 tonnes, the ship was required to dock at the Port of Brisbane's Multi-user Terminal, as it was too large to dock at Portside Hamilton, or to turn safely in the Brisbane River. Read More »
