GrainCorp truck marshalling area complete
 

GrainCorp's new truck marshalling area at the Port of Brisbane is now in operation.
Construction of the marshalling area has added extra space to accommodate a minimum of 16 B-doubles at any one time. Extra lighting means the facility can also now operate 24 hours a day.

  The dredger Brisbane will complete the work by the end of June
 
Dredging continues after floods
 

Work is continuing on one of the Port of Brisbane's largest ever annual maintenance dredging campaigns, following the devastating Queensland flood crisis.
The floods deposited more than 1 million m3 of material into the channels and berths (on top of what is usually removed), and this has added several extra months of work to the dredging schedule.

The automated weighbridge provides auditable records that show a vehicle's controlled legal mass.

  Imports driving strong growth in containers

Container trade through the Port of Brisbane increased by 4.8% year-to-date (as at the end of April), to reach 805,200 teus.
The increase was largely driven by strong growth across most import commodities, particularly electrical equipment, paper and wood pulp, and iron and steel. Read More �

  Safety hour for port workers

On Monday 28 March, over 100 Patrick workers in Brisbane gathered to commemorate the loss of a colleague in a work accident one year ago.
A Safety Hour was held at Patrick Logistics, to highlight to workers how vital safety is in their everyday working life, and to encourage their continued commitment to safe practices at all times. Read More �

MISC Agencies (Australia) welcomed the MV Bunga Raya Satu to Brisbane on Tuesday 12 April during its maiden voyage to Australia.

The construction contract has been awarded for the Port of Brisbane's ninth dedicated container wharf, Wharf 12.
Brisbane-based construction company, Smithbridge Australia, will build the new wharf, which will be operated by Hutchison Port Holdings (HPH) on completion.

PBPL has announced a new schedule of port charges, to take effect from 1 July 2011.
As part of the new schedule, PBPL is introducing a new Port Access Charge.
