Super B doubles granted access to Port Gate
 

Port of Brisbane Pty Ltd (PBPL) and the Department of Transport and Main Roads (DTMR) have approved access to Port Gate for four-teu Super B doubles at a gross mass of 109 tonnes. This equates to a 50% increase in gross mass and a 77% increase in payload, in comparison to previous Port Gate limits.

This year the Port of Brisbane Pty Ltd (PBPL) partnered with Neumann Petroleum to present the 2011 Safety 1 forum on Wednesday 7 September.
Over 170 guests from a wide range of industries attended the event, where they were provided with information to help prevent workplace health and safety incidents.

Port weighbridge to provide axle weight tickets
Port weighbridge to provide axle weight tickets
 

The Port of Brisbane's Public Weighbridge recently received approval from the National Measurement Institute to provide axle weight tickets.

These tickets will provide the total gross weight of the vehicle, as well as weights for each individual axle group.

The Public Weighbridge is the only weighbridge in the port precinct with the ability to provide axle group tickets, as it has a multi-platform function that allows each axle group to be weighed simultaneously. Read More »

Goodbye to Crane 6

DP World recently said goodbye to its oldest crane, crane six, when it was demolished in September as part of their operating remode.
Inver Engineering began deconstructing crane six in mid-August, taking approximately three weeks to complete the demolition. Read More »

Construction of the Port of Brisbane Motorway upgrade, Port Connect, is on track with earthworks and ground treatments continuing.

Construction on Queensland's largest ever road and bridge project, the $2.12 billion Gateway Upgrade Project, has officially reached completion. The original project scope was completed ahead of schedule in November 2010, resulting in the announcement of a $240 million southern extension, delivered to completion in July 2011.

The Port of Brisbane consists of a number of different areas that are classified as Maritime Security Zones, and these zones have several security requirements.
If you work in a Maritime Security Zone you must display a valid Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) at all times.

Please be aware that for safety reasons, cycling is strictly prohibited on all roads in the Port of Brisbane.
'No cycling' signs have been placed on the approach to the port, and on all roads around the Port of Brisbane, to remind cyclists of this restriction.
