Qantas have advised AFIF that they will resume services between Europe and Australia and between Asia and Europe today Wednesday 21 April 2010 following a clearing of the volcanic ash cloud affecting parts of the northern hemisphere. It is anticipated scheduled services between Australia and Europe via Asia will recommence tomorrow Thursday 22 April 2010.
It is important to note that to enable the efficient removal of the obvious backlog, Qantas Freight will, at this time, reopen bookings for new general cargo and perishable shipments scheduled to depart for the UK and Europe on or after Tuesday 27 April 2010 only, with a limited capacity available for urgent express shipments.
Qantas cargo terminals will only accept general cargo and perishable shipments destined for the UK and Europe if booked and delivered within the normal acceptance time.
Please refer to the attached official announcement
Please advise all concerned.
Thank you
