image Imports of high value commodities are again the feature of
June’s airfreight performance. Exports of perishables produced a mixed
performance but are down overall on last June’s record performance to 10 300
tonnes. See below. For more information on specific commodities or trade

Perishables exports were down slightly
(<600 tonnes) compared with June 09, the previous corresponding period
(PCP). Drops were recorded in exports of seafood and fresh fruit partly
offset by a strong performance by many meat products Imports are again driven by the surge in high
value products such as electronics, appliances, pharmaceuticals, machinery
and parts plus clothing, all of which rose strongly and overall imports are
back to the levels of June 2008 |
