Imports of high value commodities are again the feature of June’s airfreight performance. Exports of perishables produced a mixed performance but are down overall on last June’s record performance to 10 300 tonnes. See below.

Perishables exports were down slightly (<600 tonnes) compared with June 09, the previous corresponding period (PCP). Drops were recorded in exports of seafood and fresh fruit partly offset by a strong performance by many meat products

Imports are again driven by the surge in high value products such as electronics, appliances, pharmaceuticals, machinery and parts plus clothing, all of which rose strongly and overall imports are back to the levels of June 2008
