The CBFCA has extended an invitation to AFIF members to attend their upcoming NSW Regional Convention to be held at the Crowne Plaza, Hunter Valley. For those who are interested in a round of golf, this will take place onsite on Friday 26 March 2010 followed by the official welcome event that same evening. Saturday 27 March 2010 is the main convention with a heavy weighting to transport related issues followed by an evening of networking and entertainment.

Program highlights include :

• The Minister for Ports and Waterways, the Hon Paul McLeay will deliver a keynote presentation where he will provide an update on the Port Botany Landside Improvement Strategy implementation process, port infrastructure developments and Enfield intermodal solution.
• A follow up presentation will be delivered by Lachlan Benson Executive General Manager Industry Relations Sydney Ports Corporation who will provide an update on benefits of PBLIS to date, how is transparency of information going to be delivered, new performance standards and how will they be enforced, an update on the off peak incentive scheme and future landside reform
• In context of the Port Botany Third Terminal Operator, the CBFCA have also invited John Luk (Senior Manager Australasia and North Asia, Hutchison Port Holdings) to present to discuss Terminal capacity, industry interface systems and key milestones leading to commencement of operations.
• Another presentation of interest will be from Gary Webb, CEO Newcastle Ports Corporation showcasing major developments at Newcastle - a vision to support general cargo, bulk and container trade to service the wider New South Wales market.
