| Dear {Firstname},
On the 1st of April, compliance agreements between AQIS and fumigators will come into force which will ensure that AQIS fumigation standards are strictly adhered to. This will impact on a range of areas within the logistics chain.
The attached document draws attention to four major areas of concern these being:
- The suitability of fumigation sites
- The suitability of cargo to fumigated in containers
- The suitability of commodities with impervious wrapping or surface coating
- The ventilation requirements after completion of treatments
These are the four major issues that may impact on the ability of the fumigation providers to carry out treatments in a timely and effective fashion. It may be helpful to make contact with your fumigation service providers to ensure that they are fully aware of the impact that compliance with the standard will have on their specific circumstances.
Please pass this information to all concerned.
Thanks and regards
