We are pleased to advise that the new Edition of the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) 52nd Edition, effective January 2011, will be available from mid-October (subject to availability) and will replace the current Edition 51 that you are now using.
The IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) guide is the trusted source to help you classify, mark, pack, label and document dangerous shipments, based on international and national air regulations as well as airline-specific requirements. Recognized by the world's airlines for over 50 years, the DGR is the most up-to-date, user-friendly reference in the industry.
As a regular user of the IATA DGR Manual, you understand the importance of compliance when shipping hazardous material by air. With the IATA DGR 52nd Edition at hand, you also know that you are working safely and with the very latest information.
There are significant amendments and additions in the NEW Edition of the IATA DGR Manual so make sure you order your copy to reflect these changes.
Important Changes in the 52nd Edition:
|
The 52nd edition of the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations incorporates all amendments made by the Dangerous Goods Board and includes all changes, as they are known, to the 2011-2012 edition of the ICAO Technical Instructions. Without access to these substantive changes those using outdated versions of the DGR are very liable to tendering and accepting shipments that are not in compliance and significantly increase the chance of delays, fines and potentially disastrous safety accidents.
- All new reformatting of the packing instructions in Classes 3,4,5,8 and 9 and Division 6.1 making previous editions of the DGR unusable.
- New entries in the List of Dangerous goods will change how shippers potentially classify their substances - making them easier or more difficult to transport.
- Changes to the special provisions that make shipments either more or less restrictive that all users must be aware of when preparing or accepting a shipment.

During the year further amendments and supplements may be issued. These will be posted on to our website as they become available.
