Terminal: Patrick, Port Botany

Date: 19 October 2009

Issue: Continued congestion and lengthened truck turnaround times

Short Description of the Issue:
Sydney Ports has been advised of further increased TTA at the Patrick Port Botany terminal today.
Sydney Ports had been unable to contact the terminal until 1.30pm, despite several attempts seeking an update.
It is understood that the queue has been extending beyond the Botany Road/Beauchamp Road intersection.
In addition, the Patrick Queue web camera is currently frozen, but Penrhyn Road is full.

Impact of the Issue:

Sydney Ports has arranged traffic marshall resources on site and we have now been in contact with Terminal Management to try to resolve the current issues.
Additional Sydney Ports staff have also been dispatched to assist with the situation.

This matter will be raised at the Sydney Ports Cargo Facilitation Committee meeting tomorrow, along with the congestion issues faced last week and on the weekend.
Additional time has been given for industry to discuss these issues with Patrick management.

Resolution action: Sydney Ports will be actively monitor the situation and update accordingly.
