Dear All,
AQIS experienced a communications outage this morning from approximately 1.30AM until 10.15AM AEDST. The outage was caused by failed hardware at AQIS's provider of communications infrastructure. During the outage, AQIS officers could not access the ICS and no declarations or status updates (messages) flowed between AQIS and Customs.
All messages sent during the outage were queued and are now being processed. There may be some delays in AQIS processing today while officers work hard to process the backlog of messages.
Please be aware that we are currently operating on temporary/backup communications infrastructure. The replacement for the failed hardware is scheduled to arrive at 1.00PM AEDST, and there may be another minor outage later this afternoon while our communications are re-routed through the replacement infrastructure. The re-routing outage should be very minor and is not expected to have any impact on operations.
We apologize for any delays or other inconveniences experienced as a result of this outage.
