We have received advice from our trade practices advisors, HWL Ebsworth, that legislation due to come into effect by May 25 this year will affect quotations given to individuals for freight movements.

 

Once legislation is introduced, all quotations for the movement of goods for individuals (i.e. NOT applicable for quotations on behalf of a registered company), will need to include all quantifiable known costs at the time of quotation. In addition, where additional charges will need to be paid but the amounts are not known at the time, a note to that effect must be included.

 

Obviously if you are in the business of moving household or personal effects for individuals, then this notice will affect you.
