Truck Queues and Delays Port Botany Patrick Terminal
Thursday, 17th September

We have received the following advice from Sydney Ports Corporation of delays currently being experienced at Patricks Port Botany terminal as a result of early morning fog.

"Short Description of the Issue:

There is currently significant congestion being experienced at Patricks Port Botany Terminal. This is due to fog during the night and a decision by Patrick to close the terminal operations for a few hours early this morning.

Impact of the Issue:

Sydney Ports has been in close contact with Patrick's Terminal Management and Local Area Police Command regarding traffic control. Patricks have now advised via contingency alerts that 1100 timeslots have been cancelled and will be honoured at a later time.

Sydney Ports has arranged additional Traffic Marshall resources on-site to manage truck queues at both Patrick, Penryhn Road and the Simblist Road queuing area which was established recently.

Sydney Ports will keep in close contact with Patrick Terminal Management and Police to ensure the current delays are managed.

Commencement time of the issue: Early Morning 17 September 2009

Approximate time to resolve the issue: Estimated, lunch time. Sydney Ports will monitor the situation closely and update as required."
