If you have not already received the Notice directly, please be advised that IATA is planning an e-freight meeting to generate increased interest amongst the industry and to demonstrate the process of e-freight. The trials and pilot process for Australia have all been completed and the concept has been proven. The goal now is to increase the number of e-freight shipments to improve the efficiency of this aspect of the supply-chain.
AFIF remains supportive of e-freight in principle but has suggested a number of interim arrangements to speed the take-up of the system and has urged IATA both locally and throughout the Asia-Pacific to consider introducing incentives, as real cost savings may then permeate the wider supply-chain.
AFIF has assisted IATA with the arrangements for this meeting and encourages all members to attend and learn more about the system and benefits.
