Advice to Industry on Customs Compliance Issues

The Australian Customs and Border Protection Service ('Customs') have developed a series of Briefing Papers on compliance issues which we will be circulating to members on a quarterly basis.

Customs state that the aim is to provide key compliance messages and to provide information in a way that is not just a series of raw generic data, but is specific enough for organisations to be aware of the specific errors being made and the correction required.

Customs recognises that this will be a progressive process and the paper in its current form provides a national view of statistics on errors and provides commentary to explain both recently identified and consistently recurring errors.

Customs expects the document to evolve and improve as Compliance's reporting facilities improve with the development of the National Compliance Database and as they incorporate your feedback.

Please click here to view the Briefing Papers.

Please circulate to all concerned and feel free to refer any comments or suggestions to us and we will pass the feedback to Customs.

Thanks and regards
