| Dear {Firstname},
AFIF participated in a general meeting coordinated by Sydney Ports Corporation on Tuesday Feb 3rd, to update users of Port Botany Container Terminals in regard to the package of reforms aimed at easing congestion around the Port.
In June, Sydney Ports will trial a NSW Government plan to introduce a peak pricing program to make an additional charge for container slots between 5am and 1pm, thought to be in the $80 - $120 range. It is envisaged that, if implemented, the new charge will be introduced later this year. As a first-step, Sydney Ports will commence a two week long data collection phase beginning later this month and again in April. In the meantime, the NSW Ports Minister Mr Joe Tripodi will 'review' this plan.
The subject of hours of operation of empty container parks and general mis-match of working hours are still high on the agenda.
We will keep you informed on other main points of the reform package.
Regards,
