Vale Ulrich Villinger

We have been informed that Mr Ulrich Villinger, recently retired Chairman of the Board of Schenker AU/NZ, quietly passed away on Monday 25th February, following a courageous battle with cancer.

He was the loving husband to Christl and dearly loved father to Yvonne.

Ulrich began his professional career at Schenker in 1962 and in 1978 became MD of Schenker Australia and NZ.

In 1995, Ulrich was appointed CEO of Schenker Asia Pacific and also appointed to the Management Board of the former Schenker International AG, responsible for the Asia Pacific Region.

Ulrich resigned as CEO Asia Pacific in 2003 and continued serving on the Australian Board and as an advisor to Head Office, until he retired last year. The result of his work is admirable: Schenker is now a well known name in the Asia Pacific Region.

He was a guide and mentor to all his work colleagues and will be sadly missed by all.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday 4th March at 2:15pm at The Northern Suburbs Memorial Gardens, 199 Delhi Road, North Ryde, NSW, 2113.

In lieu of flowers, the family have requested that donations be made to the Brain Cancer Research Foundation.
