RACA Security Training
Framework Information Sessions

Members would be aware that the Australian Government Office of Transport Security (a Div. of Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government - formerly DOTARS) has introduced new security measures that require air cargo to be security cleared before it can be loaded onto an aircraft. These measures have led to the development of revised processes for the training and accreditation of Regulated Air Cargo Agents (RACA) which came into operation on 1 January 2008.

The new training and assessment scheme is administered by a Quality Assurance Service (QAS) under the jurisdiction of the Office of Transport Security. We believe it is important for industry to be fully aware of these new measures and how they will impact on business in the international supply chain sector.

To assist industry in understanding what changes are required and what bearing this will have on business, AFIF and the CBFCA, who provide a joint RACA Security Training program, have arranged for a representative of the QAS to make a number of presentations to industry during the month of March.

Issues covered during the presentation will be:

  • The new RACA Security Training Framework (STF) and how this will be implemented
  • The role of QAS in accreditation
  • What will be included in the training and assessment
  • Who needs to be trained in the different levels of accreditation
  • Obtaining the accreditation and the new unique accreditation number

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

All persons who are charged with the responsibility of the training accreditation requirements for their organisation's Transport Security Program (TSP).

Depending on the organisation's TSP, RACA accreditation may be required for warehouse staff, drivers, airfreight operators, receptionists, customer service staff etc.
