AQIS Wood Packaging
Information Letter for Exporters 22.1.08

AQIS have issued an information letter for exporters regarding International Standards for Phytosanitary measures - Guidelines for Regulating Wood Packaging in International Trade (ISPM15) and the Australian Wood Packaging Certification Scheme for Exports (AWPCS).

The purpose of this letter is to provide exporters with a greater awareness of international standards for wood packaging and Australia's response to the standard, by developing a wood packaging certification scheme.

It also informs exporters of the possible consequences of failing to meet importing country requirements and how they can go about obtaining compliant wood packaging or becoming a certified wood packaging manufacturer or treatment provider.
