Notification of Draft Decision:

 

The Commission has made a draft decision proposing to authorise a continuation of code sharing by Qantas with Air Niugini on Air Niugini’s services between Sydney, Brisbane, Cairns and Port Moresby.  The proposed period of authorisation is until 31 December 2009.

Submissions about the draft decision are invited.  The closing date for the receipt of submissions is COB 21 September 2007.  The draft decision is attached, but is also available for viewing on the Commissions website at www.iasc.gov.au, under “current cases”, or by contacting the Commission (see below).

The Commission’s assessment has been co-ordinated with a review of the code share arrangements by the Independent Consumer and Competition Commission (ICCC) of PNG.  The ICCC has concurrently issued its own draft decision, also proposing to authorise the code share arrangements until 31 December 2009.  The ICCC’s draft decision can be viewed by contacting it at www.iccc.gov.pg or by telephone at 0011 675 325 2144.
