As part of the 2007 / 08 budget significant funds have been allocated for an increase in transport security measures.

As part of the funding DOTARS will develop an Accredited Air Cargo Agent (AACA) scheme to extend the supply chain security to land transport operators.

In addition the government will extend checked bag screening to 26 regional airports to ensure that all passenger baggage is screened for domestic travel as well as international.
