Business Continuity Plans in Case of ICS Systems Failure

Dear Firstname,

At the most recent meeting with Customs, it was highlighted that during two unscheduled outages, whereby Customs had to invoke the Business Continuity Plans, it was evident that there was a fair amount of misunderstanding particularly from the export sector.

Whilst, it is understood that no one could be expected to be fully conversant with BCP as it is (hopefully) rarely used, we recommend that business managers familiarise themselves with the procedures and review these periodically. It may also be worthwhile effecting some sort of 'fire drill' for your operation to test the understanding of procedures, so that once Customs have a necessity to invoke the BCP, then it is not a total mystery to the operations personnel. Please click here to view full information regarding Customs BCP.

Thank you for your cooperation and please advise all concerned.

Thank you and kind regards
